There are said to be over sixty water parks in France – some of which are attached to camp sites. They have thrilling water slides and all kinds of water-based attractions. If getting wet doesn’t appeal, don’t worry, you’ll often find land-based activities and sports there as well, and spa and sauna treatments for sheer relaxation. Here are some of the best in France.
The North

Tucked away under a large pyramid on Le Touquet beach, with both indoor and outdoor areas, this complex has a giant wave pool, twister slides, the Magic River and a colourful kids’ lagoon for the under sixes. For the very brave there’s the Black Hole ride, where you travel to the top of the pyramid before dropping down at high speed into a pool. For some adult relaxation there are Jacuzzis and a spa. There’s also a snack bar, a restaurant grill, a bar lounge and an ice-cream parlour.

Camping La Vallée, Normandy
This five star campsite, with pitches and mobile homes, is also home to one of Normandy’s premier parks, not far from the beach in a beautiful rural setting. It has in- and out-door pool complexes, a five-lane water slide, a paddling pool for the little ones, and a spa and wellness centre for the grown ups. It also operates a Kids’ Clubs for all ages and Family Fun sessions. Open between April and November.

Located south of Quimper on the beach, this campsite water park has one indoor and three outdoor pools, and an impressive collection of water slides, as well as a paddling pool for the little ones and a ‘lazy river’ for the less active.
