Indre is part of the current region of Centre (Val de Loire) and is surrounded by the departments of Indre-et-Loire, Loir-et-Cher, Cher, Creuse, and Vienne.
In this rural part of central France the land is gently undulating criss-crossed with rivers. Sunny and warm in the summer but can be cold in the winter. Property prices are relatively cheap.
