Saint Secondin Property Description
This detached stone house sits a beautiful setting on the edge of a hamlet not far from the village of Saint Secondin and the garden, or should I say small park, of around 1.5 hectares includes a swimming pool, lake, and lovely mature trees.
The house is actually made up of two stone buildings, joined on the first floor by a small hallway/bridge. Consequently, the layout is a little bit higgledy-piggledy with quite a few small rooms and a rather strange layout that you can't do a lot about. The living room is in the first floor "annexe", as are a couple of the bedrooms and if you're looking for a property with large, airy, light rooms, then this isn't the house for you!
In the first part of the house, on the ground floor there is an entrance hall and on the right is a dining room (25m2) with exposed stonework, tiled floor, fireplace and old sink. To the left of the entrance is a very small fitted kitchen (10m2) with a shower room (4m2) and separate wc. In the second part of the house, which is kind of an "annexe", there are two interconnecting bedrooms (11 and 12m), a shower room, a utility room with the electric boiler for the central heating, and a guest bedroom (14m2) with wood panelling and pretty tiled floor.
Stairs from the entrance hall lead to the first floor and a landing and the master bedroom (25m2) with carpeted floor and fabric lined walls (not wallpaper!). A door from the landing leads to the hallway/bridge to the first floor of the "annexe" which is the enormous living room (70m2) with a small bar area and large fireplace.
The property also includes a separate small stone cottage with a living room (18m2), a shower room and a small l-shaped room (6m2) with the plumbing to install a kitchen. Upstairs is a bedroom (22m2).
The garden is beautiful and you feel like you're in your own parkland with huge mature trees, a swimming pool (5m x 10m) and lake of around 2,000m2. There are fish in the lake but apart from carp, the owner isn't sure what type. There are a number of small outbuildings including the pool-house, wine cellar, summer bar and double garage with attic.
