BEAUTIFUL REGION
This delightful converted barn with profitable gites business is situated near the historic town of La Chatre in the Departement of the Indre. This area is also known as Berry - the old name for this region.
This is also geographically the Southern Loire Valley, the area located midway between the River Cher and the River Creuse – both rivers being tributaries of the Loire.
La Chatre is well located 24 miles from Autoroute A20 (the Paris - Limoges Road) which can be accessed at Chateauroux or further south in the direction of Limoges.
Access by air is at Limoges, Poitiers and Tours Airports.
We purchased the property in 2003. It was then simply the conversion of a barn by a Parisian interior designer who owned the property for five years. The conversion had been done in a style which had something special about it . . .
