Tourists flock to Normandy
Those who are considering buying French property for sale are being urged to consider Normandy as a possible location.
As well as being conveniently located for heading back and forwards to the UK, the region is a good choice for anyone planning on renting out their French property.
Over a million tourists flock to the region each year looking for accommodation, with many hoping to visit the site of the D Day landings and cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach.
New centre welcomes more visitors And the region is expected to welcome even more visitors this year with the opening of a new multimillion pound centre which has been built at the entrance of the cemetery.
The visitors centre will serve as an entrance to the cemetery but most of it is built discreetly underground.
Designed by French American architect Nicolas Kelemen, the idea for the centre first came about in 2001 and hopes to draw veterans from across the globe.
Families welcomed to Normandy Families who wish to visit the centre will be allowed in for free and can make use of a small private room for privacy before or after a visit to the cemetery.
Omaha Beach is located on the coast of Normandy, facing the English Channel and was one of the major landing point of the Allies during the Second World War.
