The French region of Western Loire

Whether you have already bought your French property or are considering purchasing a home, it is worth stopping off in Western Loire to experience the beauty of the region.

Filled with lush countryside and stunning vineyards, the area is the ideal place to relax with a glass of wine or sample some fabulous French cuisine.

For those who prefer a place in the sun, Western Loire also offers visitors long sandy beaches. More adventurous travellers will stumble upon dozens of castles and manor houses as well as experiencing the region's cities, artwork and cultural festivities.

Travelling to Nantes

If you stuck as to where to head first, the best option is probably the historical city of Nantes, which is the capital of western France and houses dozens of fascinating museums and galleries.

Also worth a visit are the famous Gothic cathedral and the chic Passage Pommeraye shopping mall, which is named after its property developer Louis Pommeraye.

A trip to Le Mans

But no trip would be complete without stopping off in beautiful Le Mans which is known for its gothic architecture, Roman baths and most of all, its motor sport.

Two separate racing tracks are housed within the city, known as the Bugatti Circuit and famous Circuit de la Sarthe.

The tracks are regularly in use and public roads are often shut off to the public to allow the sports cars onto the circuit.

Since 1923, crowds have flocked to the city to watch the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
