Romance and entertainment in Ile de France

The historic region of Ile de France is one of the most popular in the country.

Perhaps the biggest draw to the area is the stunning capital city of Paris which draws in tourists from around the world.

Built on the banks of the River Seine, the city is the ideal place both to buy French property and visit from a different region.

With its museums, monuments, restaurants and churches, the romantic city of Paris offers a rich cultural backdrop covering all the major artistic disciplines.

Perhaps the most famous of these is the ever popular Eiffel tower which last year was visited by more than six million people.

Also pulling in the tourists is the beautiful Notre Dame as well as numerous art galleries including the world famous Le Louvre.

Paris is also filled with woods and gardens as well as cemeteries such as the huge Pere Lachaise.

There is no shortage of Paris accommodation with hotels at every corner from luxury boutiques to cheaper bed and breakfasts.

Most of these are based near to one of the city's famous landmarks or on the main shopping road, the Champs Elysees.
