French hotels fill up for Fete de Bayonne Held in the town of Bayonne, Aquitaine, which has a population of 40,000, the event brings a party atmosphere to the area as hotels are filled up and people take to the streets.
Commonly dressed in the traditional white trousers, white shirts and a red scarf, visitors are invited to join in an array of activities or just sit back and soak it all in.
Sample France's Basque traditions A huge street party sees thousands dancing and drinking the night away while other entertainment includes everything from traditional folk songs to cow racing.
Another popular event is the bullfighting held in Les Arenes over the weekend, while there are also plenty of Basque culinary delights on offer for all.
