Revellers flock to Midi Pyrenees

After purchasing your stunning cottage in the south of France you may want to learn more about the area and what activities there are to enjoy.

One of the best places to head to get a real taste of what life is like during the French summer time is the Midi Pyrenees for the annual Lourdes Fetes.

For two months people flood into the picturesque town of Lourdes to celebrate all things French, with entertainment to suit the tastes of every age and background.

Something for everyone at Lourdes Fetes

Antiques markets are open throughout the event as well as musicals, drama, star gazing, food stalls and folk dancing.

The festival, which kicks off in the last week of June, also includes a two-day sports competition, where dozens of hopefuls try out their luck and get stuck into a range of physical activities.

Celebrate France with music and dancing

July sees the fairground head to town for the children to enjoy, while adults can relax to the strains of orchestral concerts and traditional dancing.

To conclude the big event, August is spent with more celebrations as theatre and music groups come to town and ends with the 'Days of Peace' from August 12th to 14th.
