Paris museum gets a revamp

Anyone who is thinking of moving to France should consider heading to the capital, especially now a historic museum is set for a revamp.

Paris' famous Orsay Museum is being restored to its former glory in a bid to highlight the building's architectural delights.

It has long been a favourite with art-lovers and tourists and has held some of the world's most prestigious pieces including work by Edgar Degas, Paul Gauguin and Claude Monet.

Formerly a railway station, the building was transformed 20 years ago into a stunning gallery for Parisians to enjoy and now the new plans look set to make it even better.

Museums across the city of Paris

Whether you are on a romantic break, searching for that perfect French property or simply looking for a change of scenery, Paris is the ideal place to visit.

With museums and galleries located all over the area, there is plenty to do and see and it is possible to buy a museum pass which will get you into 70 such establishments for free.

Must sees include the world famous Mona Lisa in the Louvre and the stunning Rodin Museum.

A trip to the Eiffel Tower

So you have managed to fit in all the museums and are wondering what to do next? Well, no trip to Paris is complete without taking a journey up one of the world's most famous landmarks.

The iron Eiffel Tower, designed as a temporary sculpture by engineer Gustave Eiffel, is now the most visited monument in the world.

More than 200 million people have paid their respects to the giant structure since it was built in 1889 and many have dined in the restaurant which is now situated at the top.
