Nimes offers taste of French wine

If you have bought a property in France or are simply heading there on holiday it is difficult not to be tempted to get stuck into the fabulous wines on offer.

One of the best places to experience the beverages is the vineyards at Costieres de Nimes which span from Nimes all the way to where Languedoc meets the Rhone.

The wines which come from the region are famous for their fruity taste, with the reds being rich and deep in colour and the rose's described as "light and dry, traditionally well balanced and delicate".

Visitors flock to the Feria des vendanges

Perhaps one of the best places to sample the fantastic wines on offer in the region is the Feria des vendanges in Nimes, which celebrates wine and the grape harvest.

Every September, revellers fill the streets for the corridas or bull running and other exciting activities.

Plenty of wining and dining in Nimes

In true French fashion there is of course plenty of offer to eat and drink and visitors are encouraged to consume plenty of wine in celebration of the grape harvest.

Influences from Spain also include a number of bullfights but for those who find that less than entertaining, there is plenty of family fun on offer too.
