Families who have purchased Dordogne property for sale are in for a treat this October when the Fete des Vendanges comes to the area.

Every year, for one weekend, the wine growers of Sigoules in the region of Aquitaine celebrate their harvest with a fabulous festival welcoming tourists and local residents alike.

The event is one of the highlights of the year for those who have French property in Sigoules, with activities on offer for all the family throughout the weekend.

Weekend of fun in Dordogne

Friday night sees a torchlit procession through the town which is followed by food and dancing at the Lycee Agricole Prive du Cluzeau.

Visitors are then invited back to the party the following day when the region's wine growers and local marching bands parade down the Place de la Madeleine.

This is followed by wine tasting sessions, the opportunity to sample some of the region's culinary delights and the chance to browse the stalls at the craft market.

Activities in Sigoules

On Sunday the festivities continue on a sportier theme with fun runs organised throughout the town as well as golf competitions held Chateau du Golf des Vigiers.

And those who have not yet decided whether to buy a Dordogne property for sale will no doubt be convinced when the weekend's entertainment ends with a Renaissance music concert at l'eglise Monbos.
