Midi Pyrenees hosts European Summit of Sculpture
Summer is the best time to head to the Midi Pyrenees for more reasons than just the great weather.
This year, as every year, those heading to the area in June will be able to experience the fabulous art displayed at the European Summit of Sculpture.
Spread throughout a number of galleries and other venues in the town of Montauban, the event sees artists from across Europe displaying their most prized pieces.
This year, the talent is yet again impressive and far reaching with sculptors from a number of eastern European countries including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Poland, Macedonia and Bulgaria exhibiting their work.
The event fuses different approaches to sculpture from traditional pieces to landscaping and installations.
Bethmale Valley Cheese Festival For those who can hold out a little longer the region also offers up entertainment in a different form, food.
One of the most popular celebrations of traditional French cuisine is the annual Bethmale Valley Cheese Festival which also takes place in June.
Hundreds of different cheeses will be on display for visitors to sample which will give them not only some tasty delights but a real lesson in one of France's most important exports.
