Lyon marathon attracts French tourism and runners

Most of us are still recovering from the excitement of the London Marathon but for those who are thinking of travelling to France this month, the Lyon equivalent is a must see.

Not only is it perfect to watch as a spectator but the marathon is one of the best ways to explore Lyon's Renaissance quarter and its three wooded parks.

Around 10,000 people take part each year and around 100,000 watch with races organised to suit all abilities.

Lyon ideal for French property investment

Whether you enjoy the gruelling challenge of the marathon or prefer a more relaxed setting Lyon has something to offer any potential purchaser.

As well as being the ideal place to invest in a buy to let property to rent out to tourists, the area is also a great place to take the family for trips abroad or even retire to.

Despite being the third largest city in France it has a relaxed feel and is surrounded by miles of beautiful countryside waiting to be explored.

Meanwhile, it seems that those who do decide to move to France on a permanent basis will still have ample opportunities to see the rest of the world.

It has been reported that Air France is near to closing a deal with Australian airline Qantas which will allow for flights between Australia and Paris via Hong Kong.

Those with relatives down under will also be able to catch one of six services a week to Paris from Melbourne and four weekly flights from Brisbane.
