French hotels book up for Le Weekend Des Grands Amateurs

French hotels in the famous Bordeaux region are expected to be packed out next month as wine lovers head for Le Weekend Des Grands Amateurs.

Held in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, the fun event gives those who decide to travel to France a chance to taste its finest alcoholic export.

Easy to access via the French railway, the event is expected to be packed out and making hotel reservations for the weekend in advance will be much cheaper waiting till the last minute.

For those who take the plunge, activities on offer include wine tasting, dinners, tours and entertainment.

Paris to become the face of Bordeaux

Meanwhile, rumours have spread that hotel heiress Paris Hilton will be new face of Bordeaux wines.

According to decanter.com, the 26-year-old socialite will feature in a TV, poster and magazine campaign which run throughout the summer in Europe and the US.

CIVB, the Bordeaux wine trade body, is yet to confirm whether blonde Hilton will be involved in the project.

Wine lovers travel to France this summer

People who take wine a little more seriously and are planning to travel to France may have the opportunity to pop in at Vinexpo 2007, one of the most important wine events of the year.

Held in Bordeaux, France, from June 17th to 21st, the weekend will see the top movers and shakers in the industry come out to display their wares.

Although it is held in Bordeaux, around 2,400 exhibitors will be involved, arriving from 45 different countries.
