French farms for sale

In recent years, hundreds of French farmers have left their jobs and their farms in favour of towns such as Lyon and Bordeaux.

This means that there are currently more French farms for sale than there were in the past.

According to travel website Indigo Guide, French farmland is the cheapest in western Europe and is therefore a bargain for anyone who is thinking of buying French property.

It also says that there are numerous grants and incentives for people who want to buy French farms, particularly those under 35 who have relevant qualifications.

French farm exhibition

There may be a number of French farms for sale in the country but you may need to get some tips on the best way to look after your new purchase.

One of the best ways to do this is to head to the Porte de Versailles Convention Centre for the Salon International de l'Agriculture which is said to be the biggest agricultural fair in the world.

For nine days in early spring, more than half a million visitors head to eight buildings packed out with animals, egg incubators, garden rakes, flower bulbs and hundreds of cured meats as well as state of the art farming equipment.

Stay in contact when you travel to France

Meanwhile, Air France has revealed that those who travel across the country in its planes will be able use their mobile phones to make calls as part of a pilot scheme.

For six months from July this year, passengers will be invited to also send text messages and emails.

Only a few will be able to join in however, with the airline revealing that it will only be installing the system on one A318 Airbus short-haul aircraft.
