Farm renovation in Limousin
Renovating an old farm building in France is, for many, a life-long dream and ideal for those who want to buy a holiday home or are thinking of retiring to France.
Farming plays a big part of French rural life and one of the regions where agriculture is an important part of its history and indeed, future, is Limousin.
A somewhat forgotten part of our neighbouring country, Limousin has plenty to offer families who are looking for a peaceful sanctuary to relax in on holiday.
Brive-la-Gaillarde calf market One of the best examples of how the people of Limousin celebrate their love of the outdoors is the annual calf market in Brive-la-Gaillarde.
Here, livestock farmers from across the region head down to show off their prized animals, with the event being suitable for both adults and children who want to get a better feel of French rural living.
Make the most of the region Held each year from August to September, the event takes place in the Georges Brassens Hall and is worth a visit if you are planning to buy Limousin property for sale.
Other events on offer in the region in the late summer months include the Tulle Accordion Festival, Felletin's popular tapestry exhibition and Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne's Fete Des Corps Saints.
