Enjoy entertainment all summer in Dordogne
If you are looking at Dordogne property for sale and want to get a taste of the stunning province before making that all important purchase, summer is a great time to go.
Despite the Aquitaine area having a rural feel the residents will never say no to a good party and during the summer there are plenty of fun events to keep the family entertained.
Get a taste of Eymet For those with a taste for France's culinary delights, the medieval town of Eymet comes highly recommended in July, when the residents hold a wine and oyster festival.
Eymet, located in the south of the Dordogne, is around 50 km south of Bergerac and invites both residents and tourists to the town square each year to sample the delights of the local cuisine.
Visitors are warned, however, that they face an early start, with the festival kicking off not long after dawn.
Oysters and wine are on offer to taste for free from a number of stalls set up in the main square.
Other Dordogne delights For those who are keen to sample some alternative traditions before investing in Dordogne property for sale, another local town is also ideal for entertainment.
Each year in the summer, the little town of Montignac on the Vezere River holds a colourful festival of traditional folk music and dancing.
