Cyclists gear up for Tour de France

Cyclists from across the world are gearing up for one of the toughest cycling challenges in the world which kicks off later this month.

Thousands of tourists and sports fans are expected to flock to the streets for the Tour de France which takes participants on a 3,550km race across the country.

Racing across Europe

The race, which lasts from July 7th to 29th, is this year kicking off in the UK, with competitors racing through the English countryside before heading across the Channel, down to Belgium and back through France before eight laps around the Champs Elysees in Paris, Ile de France.

Dedicated spectators will be there to cheer on their heroes as the race takes them up six mountain stages reaching altitudes of up to 2,000 metres above sea level.
