Celtic fun in Brittany

Summer is often said to be the best time to visit France, not just because of the glorious weather, but also for the number of festivals and days of entertainment on offer.

One of the best places to go for a great street party is Brittany, which is popular both with tourists and investors who often purchase Brittany property for sale to rent out during the warmer months.

Brittany's Celtic influences

The region is a stone's throw from the UK and Ireland and for that reason, it has many Celtic influences.

Perhaps the most obvious display of this is in August when for two days each year, people from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Galicia and Asturias gather to celebrate Celtic music.

Up to 500 music groups head to Brittany's Perros Guirec for a weekend of concerts held at the town centre and beautifully designed Jardins de la Capitaineries.

For a small fee, tourists and those who are considering investing in Brittany property for sale, are invited to head down and get a taste of the region at its best.

As well as performances from local bands and other Celtic musicians there is also a slot put aside for a group who are not of this genre, with both Holland and the Basque Country getting involved in the past.

No evening would of course be complete without some good old Brittany cuisine and visitors are invited to sample some of the region's finest food with stalls selling mussels, brochettes, beer and cider.
