Burgundy welcomes the International Folkloriades Festival
France is renowned for its love of music, dance and entertainment and one of the best examples of all three at once will be provided in Burgundy this September.
Thousands of people flock to the region for the International Folkloriades and Wine Festival held in the pretty town of Dijon and nearby Beaune.
Dancers in Dijon Visitors from across the world are welcomed to the annual event which sees entertainers compete and parade their talents in front of an appreciative crowd.
The atmosphere has a carnival feel, with most competitors choosing to don traditional costumes when performing in front of the international jury at the Palais des Sports.
More than 2,000 singers, musicians and dancers battle it out for recognition, although the highlight of the event is the stunning parade which is held in Dijon on the final day.
Here, the troupes are really allowed to strut their stuff, with performers from eastern Europe, South America, Asia and Africa providing entertainment for the crowds.
French food on offer throughout All that dancing is bound to make spectators hungry however, and with this in mind organisers ensue that there is plenty on offer in terms of culinary delights.
Wine is also kept flowing throughout the event with many wine makers from the region using it as an opportunity to showcase their best beverages.
