Accessible ski resorts 'good news for investors'
Investors thinking of purchasing property in one of France's numerous ski resorts are likely to see high returns, according to one expert.
French property specialist Trisha Mason revealed that thanks to the accessibility of France's slopes throughout the year, investors have a "greater chance" of summer income as well as rent in the winter months.
Altitude an 'important factor' She added that altitude was having more and more of an impact on people buying property on the slopes, as the higher resorts tend to be more expensive.
"Access to ski resorts has always been reasonably good during ski season. However, the growth of airline routes has meant that many ski areas are now easily accessible throughout the year.
"This gives the investor a greater chance for summer rental income as well as ski season income," Ms Mason said.
Ski property brings good returns She went on to explain that many investors were turning to French leaseback properties which have a guaranteed rental income of around four to five per cent per annum.
