These telephone numbers could be extremely useful if you are staying/living in France.

The emergency services number, that allows a caller to contact local emergency services for assistance.
European Emergency calls: 112

Pompiers (Fire): 18

Gendarmerie Nationale(Police): 17

SAMU (Ambulance): 15

Anti-Poison Centre: Paris 01 40 05 48 48

SOS Amitié (Paris) – similar to Samaritans: 01 42 96 26 26

SOS Help – Confidential listening line in English: 01 46 21 46 46
